Noel M. Griffith

Noel Michael Griffith, Jr., passed away on May 17, 2020 and will be cremated. His wish was for some of his ashes to be spread on his beloved Lake Minneola and the rest interred in Oakland Cemetery with his maternal grandfather, Charles Phillips. Michael is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Lori, and two sons, Noel III and Henry. Michael is also survived by his parents, Noel and Charline, his sister, Kim Johnston and by seven nephews and nieces. Born in Winter Garden, he attended West Orange High School and was recruited by the United States Naval Academy to play baseball. Upon graduation, he served four years, stationed in Pensacola, Athens, Virginia Beach and New Orleans. After the Navy, he worked in gas and oil distribution, first with RC Dunn Oil, then ExxonMobil and for the last fourteen years with Port Consolidated, Inc. He loved to hunt deer in Florida and Texas, fish anywhere as he was “haunted by waters,” go to Gator games with Noel and watch Henry play baseball. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the US Naval Academy Foundation, Class of 1993 or the Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace.
