20th Reunion - Update #2
Tuesday, 22 January 2013 13:34

Two new updates, the first regarding football tickets & the tailgater and the second is about hotel rooms:

Football tickets & Tailgater

The class tailgater will be held in the 1953 Pavillion, which means that you will need to purchase a football game ticket to attend the tailgater. This also means real restrooms and not porta-potties. Per Kit:

We are all set for tickets in the NAAA queue, but they don't put them on sale until mid to late Feb. Seats in section C and D are reserved in a block of 850 total for our class - $50 each - purchased online or over the phone directly from NAAA. They cannot/will not divide by company or other smaller group. General Admission will also be available (standing room, no seat reserved) at a cheaper price point ($25-$35) but these cannot be reserved and will be available on first come first served basis.
Hotel Room Update

An Update on the Hotel reservations:

Sheraton Annapolis: In the first 24 hours we filled our allotment of 3 night room reservations (Thurs, Fri and Sat). Accordingly, we have expanded it a bit. If you found that the website said it was "sold out" try again (http://goo.gl/Su6Th) and you should find it is now available. If you want to do anything outside of the structure of the website offering please call the hotel directly at 410-266-3131 and ask to speak with Chris Foster.  For example, if you want to reserve 4 nights, she can set that up manually (you will find that Wednesday is at a cheaper rate.)
For the other hotels, the following interactive Google Map will allow you to click on the location and go directly to the hotel's website for 1993 if it is available. Again, for any reservation needs outside of the structure presented here -- please call the individual hotel directly:  http://goo.gl/yWJQF

Note: 1 hotel has been added since the last email. Hilton Garden Inn - rate $149/night

Finally, if you have any other questions please don't hesitate to email me directly.

More information on our 20th class reunion
Friday, 18 January 2013 08:40

From Kit Vallhonrat:

The Schedule of Events for our reunion is here: http://web.joemoreno.com/Class-of-1993-20th-SOE-1-16-13.pdf

Obviously, as early as we are, it is possible that few things may change in the next 9 months, but you can be assured that the major events will go as scheduled. We have reserved hotel rooms in blocks for our 20th reunion which is scheduled around the Air Force game on October 5th.  It is also boat show weekend and Annapolis will be crowded and fun!  We have reserved enough rooms to cover things comfortably.

Blocks are reserved for Friday and Saturday night with a few rooms available Thursday as well. Our home base is the Sheraton Hotel Annapolis. The small gathering for early arrivals will be there Thursday evening and busing to events on Friday and Saturday will start from there as well. Friday night's party location might be here at the Sheraton (it is one of two options we have still to decide.) The Sheraton is our main contract and commitment, and rooms are limited so, it's in your best interest to act fast.

For the Sheraton, you can call and ask for rooms in the 1993 block or go to our very own 1993 20th Reunion reservation website here:

https://www.starwoodmeeting.com/StarGroupsWeb/booking/reservation?id=1301045477&key=6A067

Our guaranteed rate is $199 a night.

Additionally we have rooms contracted and available in a 1993 reservation block at the following hotels which don't have dedicated webpages for 1993 yet (hopefully they will
soon). So, for now, you have to call directly to reserve and request the 1993 Reunion Block rate:

- Hampton Inn, (410) 571-0200, www.annapolishampton.com $189/night
- Spring Hill Suites, (443) 321-2500, www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/bwisu-springhillsuites-annapolis $189/night
- Holiday Inn Express, 410-224-4317, www.hiexpress.com/hotels/us/en/annapolis/anprr/hoteldetail $175/night
- Best Western, 410-224-2800, www.bestwesternannapolis.com $139/night

Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

20th Reunion
Wednesday, 22 August 2012 02:26

Next year is our 20 year reunion!

Date: Saturday, 5 October 2013 (3-6 Oct 2013)
Location: Annapolis, MD
Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium against Air Force.

Our classmate, Kit Vallhonrat, is the chair of our reunion committee and he's done a lot of legwork over the past six months. Last November, some of our classmates volunteered to help out - but we could always use more help.

Volunteer?

If you're interested in helping with the reunion planning or execution, then please contact Kit ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ). Most tasks require minimal work, this year, followed by more detailed work in six to nine months (such as planning budgets, tracking payments, confirming/reconfirming events, etc.)

What's the same? What's different?

Unlike our 15 year reunion - which was pay-one-price - our 20 year reunion will be a-la-carte. This means that you can pick and pay for whichever events meet your budget and time schedule.
Other than our a-la-carte pricing, our goal is to model our 20 year reunion off of our 15 year reunion, where possible.

Class Gift Committee & Fundraiser
Wednesday, 02 September 2009 16:57

Your Class gift committee is hard at work with the Naval Academy Foundation on our fundraising effort for our Class Gift in conjunction with our 20th reunion.  Although the reunion is a few years out, the effort is mostly undertaken this year, and specifically in the next couple of months.  If any of you would be willing to work with us (no more than 20 minutes!) on updating rosters of classmates from your company and pointing us in the right direction of those more supportive of our project, please give Bob Moskal, Matt Testerman or Ken Ferguson a shout in the next few days.
