Reunion Swag
Reunion Details Update from the Class President
The reunion is upon us and the Reunion Committee would like to share some additional detail for your visit to Annapolis. Please let us know if you have questions and we'll do our best to get back to you as we navigate the events of the weekend. The committee worked tirelessly over the last year to put together a tremendous agenda and we hope you all enjoy the festivities! Go Navy!
- For the Thursday 1700 Informal Reception & Reunion Check-in we suggest that you do not drive to Eastport and that you take a water taxi instead from the Waterfront Marriott to 4th Street. There is a boat show this weekend which will create traffic downtown so be aware
- Please be sure to pick up your Swag at the Graduate Hotel on Friday starting at 0900
- The dress code for our events is casual for the most part but we can all do a good job of representing our class by dressing sharply. Nobody will be enforcing a dress code but we will be representing ourselves as individuals and collectively as a class. We'd suggest that for the Memorial Service and the Superintendent's Brief that you upscale your attire accordingly
- Our Class Meeting will be at 0930 on Friday in Rickover 102 and I'd encourage you all to join us. We will recognize the Reunion Committee members and give an update to the class. In addition, we will have an opportunity to hear from Jeff Webb, President & CEO of the US Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation. If any classmates are currently working on the yard and would like to share some insight into current trends that would be welcomed. If you have questions you'd like to submit in advance you can send them to me at

- Wendy Owens of the Alumni Association has prepared the bullet points below for all classes to assist you this weekend:
- Gate 1 will be closed to all traffic on Saturday and Sunday, due to the Boat Show. Gate 8 will be open to all traffic
- Gate 3 will be open to foot traffic on Friday 0900-1500. You will need an government issued ID
- To shop at the Mid Store, be sure to have your reunion nametag
- With 4 reunions this weekend (1973, 1983, 1993 and 2018) parking on the Yard will be nearly impossible. Please plan accordingly
- Your class will have a reserved seating section at the Parade. There are no reserved sections for the Supe’s briefing – you may sit where you wish
- Drydock restaurant is currently closed for renovation but The Alley (Naval Academy Club) is open as are several coffee shops
- You are welcome all over the Yard, but please respect the academic buildings and do not enter classrooms
- We will be directing the reunion classes to enter Alumni Hall through the Isherwood entrance for the Supe’s brief, in order to avoid interrupting a reception being held in Alumni Hall lobby for Secretary of the Navy, Hon. Carlos del Toro ’83
Lastly, the tentative transportation schedule is below and Mick Gallagher has done yeoman's work coordinating this massive undertaking. Once the transportation company confirms we'll post the final schedule to the class site, Facebook and we will do our best to email it to all of you as well.

30th Reunion Update
’93,
We hope you are all enjoying the Labor Day weekend!
Your reunion committee is putting the finishing touches on our 30th and we have a few updates to share.
First, rates will be going up by 25% on Tuesday (9/5) so be sure to get in there today and get registered to maximize your experience and take advantage of the great events that are planned.
Many of you have asked about the tailgate and it will be inside the stadium which requires a game ticket. The tailgate is located in the Class Ring NE which is adjacent to the ’53 Pavilion. The pavilion is under construction and not available for use at this time.
We are very fortunate to have the family members of our deceased classmates in attendance and the reunion committee would like to encourage you to make the voluntary donation which will help offset the costs for the aforementioned family members. Thank you to all who have already done so. If you missed the chance to contribute you can go back into the registration portal and add that item to your itinerary.
The golf outing is filling up nicely and Rob Goodson is hard at work putting together the event. There are about 10 spots left and we have a larger number of golfers versus our 25th so it should be a fun day. Be sure to get registered and grab one of the remaining tee times.
Below is an update from Jim Mills and Sue Lutz who coordinated our class reception:
"The reunion planning committee is moving the start time of Friday's class reception up to 4PM to provide more flexibility in everyone's schedule for company and individual events. We hope you will join us at the Graduate for the reception, a great starting point central to downtown, before kicking off your adventures in Annapolis on Friday night. The reception will be open bar with heavy appetizers and will run from 4PM to 8PM."
Stay tuned for the most up-to-date Schedule of Events and reach out to Tiffany Monaco or your company representatives with any questions.
Carpe Diem,
Bob
